A Statement from the Board on Recent EventsUpdatedThursday June 4, 2020 byNYF&C Board.
Dear NYF&C Families and Community Members:
Like many of you, the board of NYF&C have been deeply impacted, disheartened and shaken by the acts of racism that have occurred as of late. The most recent killing of George Floyd is yet another tragic example of the discrimination that African-Americans must face on a daily basis. We realize that as a community, we must ensure that our voices are heard in solidarity with peaceful protesters across the US who are calling for racial justice reform. We realize that in order for all lives to matter, Black lives must matter. We commit to strengthen our resolve to take the necessary actions to combat systematic racial injustice and confront the implicit biases that support racist ideologies. We, the board of NYF&C, stand with our African American brothers and sisters across the US,; we see you, we hear you and we support you. NYF&C also commits to ensuring that our program has, and always will be, open and welcoming to all by actively working to promote diversity and inclusion in all that we do.
Please know we are here to support you during these difficult times.
