NYF&C Athletes Make a Difference in the Community

Newtown Youth Football and Cheer is proud of our tradition of excellence both on and off the field since 1969. In keeping with our mission of Safety, Fun, and Character, we held several donations drives this season.

The fall NYF&C Newtown Day has become a rich tradition of multiple Nighthawk football and cheerleader teams, families and friends congregating and celebrating Newtown, its blessings, and its values.  This year the NYF&C supported two organizations - Dorothy Day Hospitality House (Danbury, CT) and the F.A.I.T.H. Food Pantry of Newtown, Inc.

Dorothy Day ran a winter accessory drive and is asking for hats, scarves, gloves, socks, ear muffs. http://www.dorothydaydanbury.org/

F.A.I.T.H. Food Pantry asked for food and hygiene items for donation.

[Please see the thank you note below.]

Families were asked to bring a donation of their choice to the game and deposit it at the designated locations at Blue and Gold Stadium.  Parents, athletes and volunteers helped collect and deliver the donations.

Thank you for all who donated to these two great organazations and to our partnership with Backyard Humanitarians 8th Annual Coat Drive.

The NYF&C is committed to the Greater Newtown community and living our mission of Safety, Fun, and Character.

Go Hawks!
